Cancun is ideal for outdoor activities. Scuba diving and snorkelling enthusiasts love to explore the local Mesoamerican Barrier Reef where there are corals, tropical fish and turtles. The Underwater Museum features submerged sculptures which are slowly being colonised by fish and other sea creatures. Near Cancun are many cenotes, underwater collapsed caves that form idyllic pools. Cenote Siete Bocas at Puerto Morales is only one hour away. Take a thirty-minute drive to the ruins of Ancient Mayan culture at El Meco.
