Why You Must Visit Japan In 2019

Japan will be hosting the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and has a wealth of things to see and do as a holiday destination. Want to read more?

Japan is a wonderful country home to both ancient traditions and modern attractions. You can visit incredible temples and shrines all over Japan, see Geisha girls in Kyoto and witness the blooming of the cherry blossoms in fantastically manicured Japanese gardens. There are enough spectacular sights to keep your Instagram account busy for months and create wonderful memories for a lifetime.

If you are looking for some adventure, Japan is home to lots of theme parks including Disneyland Tokyo and Universal Studios, as well as some local amusement parks such as Nagashima Resort and Nagashima Spa Land. Japan also has an abundance of mountains, lakes and volcanoes which means that outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking and skiing are possible. Mount Fuji is the country’s tallest mountain and an active volcano; it’s a popular destination for budding thrill seekers.

Shopping in Japan is awesome with a plethora of shops, especially in Tokyo where the lights will summon shopaholics like a moth to a flame. The only downside is that you will find the sizes are considerably smaller than our Western bottoms would like.

Make - up and cosmetics are high quality and very affordable in Japan. Electronics are cutting edge and often cannot be found outside of the country. There are always quirky gadgets that you would absolutely want to bring back as souvenirs and show people - for example, who wouldn’t want a machine that can turn old writing paper into toilet paper or a self - stirring pot!?

This summer we saw a flurry of last minute bookings to Russia when England surprised everybody to get into the semi-finals of the football World Cup, and we suspect that most of those visitors had not envisaged they would be seeing the Kremlin or Red Square for themselves. So why not consider booking a trip to Japan, watch the games and experience this unique country?

British Airways is launching a new route from London Heathrow to Osaka at the end of March 2019 which means that visitors will find it even easier to reach both the city’s modern capital Tokyo and the more traditional former imperial capital of Japan, Kyoto direct from London. British Airways is the official partner to England Rugby and will be flying the squads to Japan for the tournament.
