Discover Korean Air's Rebrand
Enjoy this insider’s insight into Korean Air’s UK launch of its stunning new Corporate Image at the Korean Cultural Centre, and enjoy access to fantastic discounts on flight tickets.
Brightsun Travel had the privilege of attending Korean Air’s UK launch event at the Korean Cultural Centre, where the airline introduced its new rebrand. Just a short walk from Trafalgar Square, the event marked a new chapter for Korean Air, as they unveiled a fresh, modern identity.
Established in 1969 and recently merging with Asiana, Korean Air is now one of Asia’s largest airlines. Developed in collaboration with world-renowned design agency Lippincott, the new visual identity reflects the airline’s legacy, whilst also looking to the future.
Central to Korean Air’s redesign is a new logo – a reimagined Taegeuk symbol - inspired by the South Korean flag and now expressed in a monochrome navy. This draws influence from Sangmo Nori, a traditional Korean ribbon dance symbolising grace, energy, and forward momentum.
The updated aircraft livery features a beautiful metallic blue, created in partnership with AkzoNobel, giving a modern edge to Korean Air’s iconic look. In a confident branding move, the word ‘Air’ has been dropped from the body of the plane, signalling the airline’s global ambition.
Beyond the luxury cabins and fine dining, the event was also a celebration of Korean culture, with a live Sanjo performance adding to the atmosphere. The warmth and attention to detail from Korean Air’s team made the entire experience feel truly special, showcasing the renowned hospitality the airline is known for.
Korean Air’s rebrand and renewed focus on the passenger experience are already making waves in the industry. With its new identity and commitment to quality, it’s no surprise that the airline has been named ‘2025 Airline of the Year’ by AirlineRatings. Here's to their ongoing success!
Passengers flying in Prestige Class with Korean Air can enjoy a luxurious experience with a 75” seat pitch, fully flat 180-degree recline, and a spacious 21” seat width. This class of travel also includes two pieces of checked baggage (32kg each) and access to the exclusive KAL Prestige Lounge.
The airline has also introduced newly developed high-class menus on-board. First Class passengers now can dine on Bernardaud china with Christofle cutlery and Riedel glassware, while Prestige Class passengers are served with elegant Armani/Casa dishware and glassware for a refined inflight dining experience. Korean Air’s dedication to exceptional in-flight dining extends to its award-winning wine programme, which pairs perfectly with the airline’s diverse menu. Brightsun Travel had the pleasure of sampling these wines, and we can confirm they are excellent!
The airline’s Economy Class is also not to be overlooked, which stands out for its generous seat pitch, with a spacious 33-34 inches, setting it apart from many other airlines that have opted for tighter seating configurations. This commitment to comfort ensures passengers enjoy a superior flying experience, even in economy.
