Al Wahba is a volcanic salt crater of about 780m depth and 6.9km in diameter, covered with white Sodium phosphate crystals at the bottom and formed due to underground volcanic activity. It will take about 1 hour to climb down to this spot but might take more time while climbing back up. So, pack for a picnic as there are numerous picnic shelters at the rim where you can sit and enjoy the landscape.
Ancient City of Mada'in Saleh
The lesser-known cousin of Petra and a UNESCO world heritage site, Mada’in Saleh is located close to Al Ula in the Medina Province and consists of 131 monumental rock-cut tombs finely carved out of sandstones. It was historically known as Hegra and belonged to Nabataen People, a community of pastoral nomads who are believed to have come from the Hejaz region of northwest Saudi Arabia. The tombs are littered with inscription and tell a great deal about Hegra and its people, lending historical importance to the spot and making it one of the most famous tourist attractions in Saudi Arabia.
Umluj - the Saudi Maldives
Often referred to as the Maldives of Saudi Arabia, Umluj is located on the country’s Red Sea coast and is a paradise for those seeking beach escape and adventurous experiences. From white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters to stunning coral reefs and inactive volcanoes, Umluj offers all you need for a perfect beach holiday. There are also mango farms nearby you shouldn’t miss visiting if planning to travel between April and June.
Jeddah and the Gate to Mecca
