In recent months, Bahrain has welcomed new hotels, restaurants, cultural expeditions, and leisure spots with more in the pipeline, as well as exciting events throughout 2025.
Hotel Openings
Hawar Resort by Mantis
In February 2025, the luxury Hawar Resort by Mantis opened on Hawar Island, a UNESCO-recognised region, around a 30-minute boat ride from Bahrain’s mainland. Hawar Resort by Mantis is an eco-luxury site promoting sustainability by preserving its natural splendour and protecting the island’s biodiversity. Features of the property include five dining venues, overwater villas that boast private pools and direct beach access, a beachfront spa, and a Bear Grylls Adventure Zone.
Kempinski Bahrain Harbour Hotel and Residences
The Kempinski Bahrain Harbour Hotel & Residences is due to open in late 2025 before year-end and will occupy one of Bahrain’s highest towers in Harbour Heights, with rooms boasting floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies with incredible views across the city’s skyline and marina. Other features of the property will include a rooftop pool, spa/wellness facilities, and a fully-equipped gym, not to mention access to the 60 boutiques and wide variety of dining outlets of Harbour Heights.
Barcelo Bahrain City Centre
The newest branch of the Barceló Hotel Group is set to open in Bahrain’s city centre this year in the historic district of Seef, offering direct access to the Bahrain Seef Mall. The four-star property will boast stylish rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, sports bar, all-day dining restaurant, kid’s club, wellness area, and business facilities.

Time Out Market
Time Out Market officially made its debut in Bahrain on 2nd December 2024. Situated in Manama on the top floor of City Centre Bahrain, this iconic food & culture extravaganza features a series of award-winning local chefs, a diverse choice of local and international cuisine, a year-round cultural programme of entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
The Avenues – Bahrain Expansion
The Avenues – Bahrain is a modern shopping and leisure hotspot which is the first of its kind in Bahrain. There’s an exciting expansion that has been approved for The Avenues, and this will include another 40,000 square metres of space containing 218 shops and restaurants, two entertainment zones, a supermarket, and a basement car park. Also part of the expansion are new contemporarily designed districts: Grand Plaza, The Forum, Electra and The Souk, plus an expansion of Grand Avenue, two pedestrian bridges, and an expansion of the public promenade by 600m along the seafront of Bahrain Bay.

Bahrain Formula 1
Next week the Kingdom of Bahrain will once again be hosting the iconic 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit. This Formula 1 event will comprise of thrilling action practice and qualifying races, entertainment, press conferences, fan zones, and more. Tune in from 10th April!
Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre
This stunning open-air theatre is hosting a fantastic line-up of events this season, including Ed Sheeran on 2nd May, Guns N’ Roses on 20th May, and Gabriel Iglesias on 4th May.
