Our Incredible India competition winner recently experienced his epic prize – a taster tour of the iconic Golden Triangle in India. Read on to hear about his amazing experience and awesome feedback…
Earlier on this year, Michael Mackinnon won our Incredible India competition and last month he enjoyed his prize with a fellow companion which was a tour of India’s famed Golden Triangle. The tour and accommodation was courtesy of Tamarind Global, and included visits to attractions in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, as well as flights with British Airways. We have received some fantastic feedback from Michael who had always dreamed about visiting India. He was over the moon with his prize and exclaimed that he had never won anything this big before, so we are very happy that he was given this opportunity from us at Brightsun in partnership with British Airways and Tamarind Global.
Michael said that India was everything he had imagined and more. We were delighted to receive a card and souvenir from him which was delivered to the Brightsun office in London. He wrote in the card that the tour was the best holiday he had ever experienced, and thanked us for his wonderful, magical holiday in which he has made memories to last a lifetime, explaining that he was treated like royalty from start to finish. Michael described his accommodation experience as wonderful and first class, and gave credit to his guide and driver throughout the tour who was a humble, helpful and knowledgeable man. His tour highlights were visiting the stunning Taj Mahal and the elephant ride up to Amber Fort.
We asked Michael if he’d book a holiday with Brightsun Travel in the future and we were chuffed with his response: ‘Yes absolutely, the customer service has been first class from beginning to end – I cannot fault your company. I was very impressed. I thought we would be in a group to find out we had a guide and driver for the entire time and were staying in such lovely hotels. It was wonderful, we felt like movie stars.’ A top tip Michael gave was to use insect repellent at Delhi airport, as he came across quite a few mosquitos.
Michael did a taster tour of the Golden Triangle, which covers full day tours of Old and New Delhi, with visits to iconic attractions such as India’s largest Mosque, the ancient Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb, as well as a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. From Delhi the tour continues on to Agra, home of the breath-taking Taj Mahal. Then from Agra the tour continues to Jaipur, with a visit to the UNESCO city of Fatehpur Sikri and a stroll through some local markets. A full-day sightseeing trip to Jaipur is the last experience on this epic tour, including the exploration of stunning palaces, lakes and forts including Amber Fort and City Palace.
