How BA Better World is Driving Towards Net Zero by 2050
British Airways has been working hard on its Better World campaign with lots of initiatives that have either already taken place in 2022 or are in the pipeline for 2023.
BA Better World has been operating for more than 18 months with the goal of meeting Flightpath net zero vision by 2050. The airline is passionate about sustainability and is continuously making efforts to reduce waste and emissions and contribute positively to its communities.
What The BA Better World Programme Achieved in 2022
Last year British Airways focused work on climate action by introducing its CO2llaborate platform, which enables customers to contribute to reducing emissions including by carbon removal, high quality carbon offsets, and sustainable aviation fuel, and enables the airline to offer more access to its sustainable aviation fuel programme, which is a crucial element of its campaign in reaching net zero emissions. The platform is now available for customers to sign up and contribute to.

British Airways has reached its target in achieving 10% of flights being operated by sustainable aviation fuel by 2030, and the airline also took delivery of its first supply of sustainable fuel from the Phillips 66 plant in the UK. In addition to the Phillips 66 plant, BA has announced partnerships with other sustainable aviation fuel plants, including project Speedbird in the UK which converts wooden and forestry residue into sustainable aviation fuel.
