2026 is set to be an exciting year for travel, with leading airlines announcing new routes to exciting destinations, plus added frequencies and upgraded cabins - making it easier than ever to explore the world from the UK. From enhanced UK–India connectivity to new links across Europe, North America, and the Middle East, here’s a roundup of the newest route launches and what’s coming next year. UK–India Connections Get a Major Boost

Air India
Air India launched a 4th daily flight between Delhi and London Heathrow on 26th October 2025, increasing frequency from 24 to 28 weekly services - offering travellers more flexibility and choice for travel between these two popular capital cities. 

British Airways 
BA will introduce a 3rd daily London–Delhi flight from summer 2026, with tickets going on sale soon.

Even better, by the end of 2026, all five India routes - Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad - will feature the airline’s latest Club Suite Business Class.

New and Expanded International Routes

United Airlines – New York
United is launching a new daily summer seasonal route from Glasgow – New York/Newark, expanding transatlantic options for Scottish travellers. Starting 8 May, this new route will be operated by the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

Air Transat - Ottawa
From 15 May 2026, enjoy new Ottawa ↔ London Gatwick flights three times weekly (Tue, Fri, Sun) - ideal for exploring Canada’s charming capital.

ITA Airways - Rome
From 29 March 2026, ITA will focus on its Rome Fiumicino ↔ London Heathrow service, discontinuing its Gatwick and City Airport operations to strengthen its Heathrow presence. Is Rome on your travel bucket list? Travel in style next year with ITA Airways. 

Qatar Airways – Doha
Qatar Airways will be boosting operations to an impressive 66 weekly flights between Doha and London Heathrow, after leasing six additional slots from Oman Air — offering more seamless global connections. Doha, Qatar’s capital makes for an ideal stopover destination when connecting onwards worldwide, known for its museums, cultural sites, and top-class leisure attractions. 

BA CityFlyer - Majorca
British Airways’ regional subsidiary airline is introducing Glasgow ↔ Palma de Mallorca seasonal flights from 9 May 2026 — just in time for summer holidays! Majorca is a popular seaside hotspot promising Mediterranean sunshine and Spanish holiday flair.

Turkish Airlines – Istanbul 
Turkish Airlines will be increasing services on its Istanbul ↔ Birmingham route to 21 weekly flights in peak summer 2026, offering more convenient connections to Asia and beyond. Whether as a stopover point or final destination, Istanbul promises incredible sightseeing, delicious cuisine, and cultural immersion. 

Riyadh Air – Riyadh 
Having launched its daily Riyadh ↔ London Heathrow flights on 26 October 2025, Riyadh Air now connects travellers to Saudi Arabia’s dynamic capital in comfort and style. 

FlyOne – Bucharest
FlyOne is launching seven new routes from Bucharest Otopeni next year, including daily flights to London Luton from 15 May 2026, plus new services to Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Nice, and Madrid.
