Where to go for holidays in the year 2023!

Another year is here and it’s time to reveal our annual list of the ultimate places to travel in 2023. We’re never short of inspiring destination and bucket-list experiences, and this time also we reached out to our travel specialists for their recommendations. A mix of old favourites and new destinations ready to welcome travellers, these have something for every kind of traveler whether you’re seeking city escapes, beach getaways or mountain hideaways.

Kyoto, Japan

Since the reopening of borders in 2022 for travel, Kyoto is drawing demand and fresh attention again. The city has its fair share of ancient temples, gardens and tea houses, plus its famous festival Gion Matsuri is set to return in July 2023 after a hiatus of over 3 years of pandemic. Kyoto also celebrates a bonfire festival Gozan Okuribi honouring their ancestors. Even though Japan has just reopened, it’s easy to fly there, thanks to several airlines opening new routes and resuming their services.

Vienna, Austria

Austria’s capital city might be old but you will a new life here in 2023 with Vienna’s World’s Fair celebrating its 150 anniversary with twelve months of cultural events and the 300th anniversary of the opening of the palatial museum of Belvedere. There are also several new hotels opening up including Hotel Josefine with its sultry 20’s vibe and Scandinavian-inspired Hotel Gilbert plus the newly-reopened Reznicek, a 100-year-old refurbished inn.

Cairo, Egypt

Most travellers flock to Egypt’s capital city to explore the ancient wonders and this year, they have a chance to explore the treasures of the Grand Egyptian Museum which might finally open in the spring. Located a stone’s throw away from the Great Pyramids of Giza, this archeological museum has over one million square feet of exhibition space and its treasures include a 40-foot-high statue of Ramses II and the tomb collection of King Tutankhamun.

Cairo

Marrakesh, Morocco

Those who want to mix travel with history and unique cuisine, Marrakesh is the perfect place to explore. The city's vibrant traditions and ancient rituals captivate like no other. It is an exotic yet affordable destination with enough spice markets, ornate doors and mosques. It is also one of the leading locations for artisanal handcrafted products – if you travel for unique handmade items for your home, you should definitely visit Marrakesh.

Gili Islands, Bali

Bali is beautiful but let’s be honest its busy, touristy and over-crowded. If you’re seeking solitude and tranquility, we suggest Gili Islands comprised of the three small coral islands– Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air each of which has their unique signatures. Whether you’re a water sports enthusiast, a honeymooner or merely wants to explore nature at its best, everyone will find a perfect slice of heaven in one of these Gili Islands.
