Day 1:
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo; transfer to hotel in Negombo. Afternoon visit to Kammachode in Negombo – History relates Negombo was once ruled by Negupan, the brother of King Ravana.

Day 2:
Proceed to Munneswaram Temple for a pooja and sightseeing. Stop at the Manawari Temple on the Chilaw-Puttlam road; history relates that Lord Rama stopped at the temple to pray to Sivalingam after the end of the war with King Ravana.

Onwards to Wariyapola for sightseeing and proceed to Kurunegala. Overnight stay in Kurunegala.

This lingam was made by Rama and therefore it is called the Ramalingam. Rameswaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama. In Tamil ‘Mun’ means ‘a long time ago’ and ‘Eeswaran’ means ‘Siva Temple’. This temple was destroyed by the Portuguese. The temple was reconstructed in 1753; later Kumaraswanu Kurukai renovated and reconstructed the temple in 1875. The construction of the Kopuram was completed in 1963. History recounts that Rama, after winning the battle with Rama and Sita King Ravana, started his return journey towards Ayodhya by Pushpaka Vimmana. Sita Laksmana Vibishana and several others accompanied Rama. Brahmahathi Dhosha which arose as a result of killing King Ravana assumed the form of a shadow following him. When the air chariot was passing over the Munneswaram Temple, Rama felt that the Brahmathi Dhosha was leaving. Rama was astonished over this strange feeling which he realized was due to some unknown divine reasons. Rama and others descended on to the ground and performed religious rituals to get rid of the Bramahathi Dhosha.

Day 3:
Proceed to Habarana and visit Ritigala where Lord Rama and Lakshamana were hit by powerful arrows and were severely injured. In order to bring them back to life, Lord Hanuman was instructed to fetch the life-saving herbs from the Himalayas. Hanuman dropped a piece of earth brought from the Himalayas on Sigiriya.

Day 4:
Proceed to Dunuwila where Lord Rama fired the Brahmaaasthram at King Ravana and killed him. Overnight stay at Wasgamuwa.

Day 5:
Proceed to Mahaiyangana for sightseeing of the ancient airport at Weregantota. Legend says that Weragantota is the first place where Sita Devi was brought to Lanka in king Ravana’s Vimana. Proceed to historic Kandy for overnight stay. Evening visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic for cultural show.

Day 6:
Proceed to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and return to hotel evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 7:
Proceed to Nuwara Eliya and visit the Sita Aman Kovil where King Ravana hid Sita. Proceed to Hakgala Gardens, another site associated with the Rama-Sita legend. Overnight stay at the Nuwara Eliya Hotel.

Day 8:
Proceed to Horton Plains or Pathala Lok where Mahi Ravana had hidden both Lord Rama and Lakshmana who were later rescued by lord Hanuman who carried them back on his broad shoulders. Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.

Day 9:
Proceed to Kataragama and check into hotel. Visit Kataragama Temple for Pooja. Kataragama Pooja takes place at Sela Sannidhi Murugan Temple. It is believed that Lord Murugan visited Kataragama at this temple. It is a temple where Lord Karthikeya Subramaniam was asked to go to the battlefield by Lord Indra on the last day of the war in order to protect Lord Rama from the wrath of Brahamaasthran shot by King Ravana, which otherwise would have weakened Lord Rama.

Day 10:
Proceed to Unawatuna and check into Hotel. Visit Rumassala Hill where medicinal plants brought over from the Himalayas were dropped down by Lord Hanuman.

Days 11, 12 & 13:
Rest and relax on the beaches of Unawatuna and visit other places of interest.

Day 14:
Proceed back to Negombo via Colombo, taking in the sights of the City.

Day 15:
