Lanzarote - Sun, Sea, Golden Sand and Natural Wonders

Visit Lanzarote, a popular tourist destination of the Canary Islands and discover dramatic landscapes, beautiful beaches, exciting water sports and a year-round pleasant climate, which is due to the island’s proximity to Africa. There are many holiday resorts on the island offering a range of great entertainment options. Costa Teguise is one of Lanzarote’s top destinations, as it is vibrant and family-friendly with fun water activities to enjoy, a great restaurant scene and five sandy beaches connected by a long promenade of shops and restaurants. Another popular resort in Lanzarote and probably the liveliest of them all is Puerto del Carmen. Located on Lanzarote’s south-east coast which is the island’s main tourist hub features the best nightlife with easy access to blue-flag beaches and plenty of exciting attractions. For a more low-key vibe, 15 minutes along the promenade from Puerto del Carmen is Playa de los Pocillos, a tranquil resort with 1km of beautiful golden beaches. On the south-west side of Lanzarote lies Playa Blanca, a beautiful resort surrounded by volcanic landscapes, four beaches and dazzling blue waters. There are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants in this laid back town. Brightsun Travel offers cheap beach holidays to Lanzarote, so you can go and explore this beautiful Canary Island for yourself.

Away from Lanzarote’s stunning coastlines, there are some phenomenal landscapes around the island including volcanic rock formations and towering mountain peaks. UNESCO actually gave Lanzarote a World Biosphere Reserve. A particularly notable attraction is the Timanfaya National Park, which features a unique moon-like landscape, volcanic rock, lava fields and rare fauna and flora. Many other scenic wonders on the island were created by famous artist and architect Cesar Manrique - head to the Jameos del Agua on Lanzarote’s north coast to explore the underground caves and volcanic tubes he converted into an entertainment hub. The attraction boasts lush gardens, a salt lake, an emerald-green pool and an underground auditorium, restaurant and bar. Northeast of the island, contains another of Manrique’s works – the Jardin de Cactus; a lush botanical amphitheatre home to over 1000 cacti species. The garden also features a bar and café with a distinct spiral staircase and wooden bar. Contact Brightsun Travel about your next trip to Europe and explore our cheap holidays to Lanzarote.
