Day 1: Airport – Negombo (15 km = ¼ hrs)
Welcome on arrival at the Airport & transfer direct to a Beach Hotel In Negombo. Evening City tour of Negombo. Dinner & overnight in Negombo.

*Negombo:
A characteristic fishing town 35 km. North of Colombo, it is a mere 10 kms from the International airport. Set amid lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a gourmet’s paradise with seafood in plenty. Old World fishing craft like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran bring seer, skipjack, herring and mullet, pomfret and amber jack while lobster and prawns are caught in the lagoon.

Day 2: Negombo – Pinnawala (75 km = 2 ¼ hrs), Pinnawala – Sigiriya (124 km = 4 hrs)
After breakfast at 0630 hours leave for Sigiriya enroute visiting the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala. Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

*Pinnawala:
This is probably the only one of its' kind and provides shelter to many elephants of all ages, found either abandoned as infants by their herds, or those found wounded in the jungles. The morning and afternoon feeding hours are the best times to visit the orphanage, followed by their two hour long bath in the river across the road from the orphanage.

*Sigiriya:
Climb the amazing rock of Sigiriya with its impregnable palace fortress built in the fifth century and enjoy the breathtaking views over the once magnificent royal pool, the throne, remains of the majestic palace, walk ways and garden. Sigiriya is a sixth century fortress perched on a 200 meter high rock and the most dramatic of Sri Lanka's historic sites. Overnight stay at Sigiriya.

Day 3: Sigiriya – Dambulla (24 km = ¾ hrs, Dambulla – Matale (47 km = 1½ hrs, Matale – Kandy (26 km = ½ hrs)
After breakfast leave for Kandy enroute visiting the Dambulla Rock/Cave Temple & a spice garden. Arrive in Kandy & check in to a Hotel in Kandy.

*Dambulla:
Dambulla rock temple is a magnificent gallery of Buddha images and wall and ceiling paintings not seen anywhere else in the Island. It is a complex of five cave temples with its origin going back to the first 01st century BC. Evening City Tour of Kandy including a visit to the “Temple of the Tooth Relic” & in the evening witness a cultural dance show. Dinner & overnight in Kandy.

*Tooth Temple:
Located in Kandy, long a center of the Buddhist faith, the stunning 17th century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani, every day.

Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (77 km = 2 hrs)
After breakfast leave for Nuwara eliya after visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Enroute visit tea plantation & tea factory. Arrive in Nuwara eliya & check into a hotel. Evening sight seeing in Nuwara eliya. Dinner & overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

*Peradeniya:
Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya situated in the outskirts of Kandy. Established in 1816, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens spans over 147 acres. Flanked by the Mahaweli River, these gardens house all the usual features such as an orchid house, a spice garden etc. But what makes them special is the beautiful and serene layout, and the fine specimens of mature plants and trees which are also home to incredible colonies of flying foxes.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya – Yala (192 km = 5 hrs)
After breakfast leave for Yala. In the evening do a jeep safari to the Yala or Bundala national park. Dinner & overnight in Yala.

*Yala:
Situated 309 kms south of Colombo, Yala is approximately 1,259 sq. kms in extent and is located in the south eastern corner of the Island. Its northern boundaries border on the Lahugala elephant sanctuary and it has the added bonus of a scenic ocean frontage. The terrain is varied flat plains alternating with rocky out crops. The vegetation ranges from open parkland to dense jungle. Water holes, small lakes, lagoons and streams provide water for the animals and birds. The specialty here is the large numbers of elephants.

**Undala:
This is the latest addition to the National Park and is situated 260 km. away from Colombo. All species of waterbirds resident in the country and the migrant birds inhabit this park. A few travel agents specialize in Nature Tours and these are advertised from time to time in the daily newspapers. Hotel reception desks and the TIC will also provide information. Jeep services are available at Wirawila and Tissamaharamaya for Yala and at Nuwara Eliya for Horton Plains.

Day 6: Yala – Galle (189 km = 5¼ hrs), Galle – Hikkaduwa (17 km = ¼ hrs)
After breakfast leave for Hikkaduwa via Mirissa & Galle. Dinner & overnight in Hikkaduwa.

Day 7: Hikkaduwa – Airport (133 km = 4 hrs)
Departure transfer to the airport.
