Amazing Malaysia – Places to Visit in Malaysia
I’m Kyra and I review holidays to inspire your next escape. The cultural melting
pot of Malaysia was my latest adventure. My first stop was the capital Kuala
Lumpur. From the moment I stepped out of the airport I fell in
love with the organised hustle and bustle. And who can visit this city without a
trip to the Petronas Towers? To capture the memories, I took stunning
panoramic images of the city from the new camera I bought from at the Low Yat shopping
mall, famed for state of the art gadgets, for half price!
Or if you want to shop for clothes, toys and try out the local gastronomy, opposite
the Low Yat mall is Berjaya Times Square which has over 1,000 retail
stores and 65 food outlets. A must visit is the food court - Taste of Asia – offering
a smorgasbord of restaurants from local cuisine to international fare. I enjoyed
a slap-up, inexpensive Malay curry there and then went to relax at the Dorset
Regency Hotel. I chose the hotel for its location, situated in the
heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, only a few minutes walk
from the Pavilion, KL Convention Centre, Sungei Wang shopping centre and the Berjaya
Times Square. I was delighted with my accommodation with free wi-fi access, a 32
inch plasma TV screen, 24 hour room service and a seriously comfortable bed.
After a few days of city sightseeing to various places like the Suria KLCC (popular
for its Aquarium), Petrosains (Science Discovery Center),the Petronas Art Gallery,
Batu Caves, Orchid Garden, Zoo, Museum, Royal Palace, Temples and the not to miss
bird park – Taman Tasik Perdana which is part of the scenic Lake Gardens,
I headed off to the lush island of Langkawi, to unwind.
Langkawi is a bit of a hidden gem. I stayed in the beautiful Berjaya Langkawi
Resort, nestled in the splendour of a tropical rainforest, located
on the sun-drenched coast of Burau Bay.
The resort features chalets and suites decorated in typical Malay-style architecture
designed to create harmony with the stunning natural surroundings. A highlight was
the amazing views of the Andaman sea, which you can enjoy over a sunset dinner at
the resort. Offering a tranquil ambiance, with swaying palm trees there is a children’s
playground and an extensive range of recreational facilities for the entire family.
There is a plethora of activities to choose from such as a Mangrove safari,
water sports, jungle trekking, scuba diving or just enjoy chilling
out at the resort’s beautiful pool. To satisfy your taste for the exotic, Malaysia
is a holiday destination that should be top of your list
