| Gulf Air has come a long way since it started in 1950, Gulf Air is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain and is the only truly Pan Gulf carrier in the Middle East region.
The regional, geographic and cultural values that the airline has embraced over more than half a century are still central to defining its brand and service ethos.
Today the airline’s network stretches from Europe to Asia and covers 40 cities in 26 countries. The fleet comprises 28 aircraft and has the distinct advantage of possessing the strongest network across the Middle East.
A new strategy to create a platform for sustained commercial operation has been put in place as part of a two-phased turnaround programme announced in April 2007 by the airline’s new management.
Gulf Air’s onboard service caters high quality products and services, including the innovative, unique and award winning Sky Chefs and Sky Nannies. Gulf Air has also introduced a unique variety of personalized dining services for passengers in First Class on a selection of long-haul routes, entitled Sky Chef. When it comes to entertainment onboard, Gulf Air provides its customers with a personal entertainment network system using state-of-the-art technology. In addition to providing its customers with two-hour strands of BBC World news, Gulf Air provides a total of 21 audio and video channels. Gulf Air is the official sponsor and airways of the Bahrain Grand Prix (Bahrain International Circuit), the first Formula One event in the Middle East. There are 217 seats set in a 2-4-2 configuration, so you are never more than one seat away from the aisle. The pitch is set at 32/34 inches and each seat has adjustable head and neck supports and of course, a footrest. In Flight Meals All passengers on Gulf Air may request a special meal to suit their dietary requirements. Orders should be placed when making your ticket reservation and no later than 24 hours prior to departure. Service In-seat telephones are available for all passengers on A330 and A340 aircraft, personal telephones are located on the reverse side of your handset - wall-mounted telephones are also available on some of our A340s. Please note that calls cannot be made during taxi, take-off and landing.
